Research Library
An introduction to Indian textile traditions and a starting point for further reading. These descriptions explain textile topics; they do not establish the provenance, loom, certification or maker of an individual Neem Tres saree. Check the relevant product page for its stated details.
Banarasi Weaving
Banarasi weaving is associated with Varanasi (Banaras), Uttar Pradesh. Silk, zari and decorative brocade are among the materials and techniques discussed in this tradition. Individual textiles vary in fibre, construction and motifs; no particular loom or certification should be inferred from the category name.
Terms to explore: Katan silk, Kora, Butidar, Jangla, Tanchoi and Cutwork. See the textile glossary and Banarasi saree guide.
Kasavu Weaving
Kasavu traditions are associated with Kerala, including Balaramapuram. Off-white cotton and gold-toned borders are familiar design references, while border, pallu, fibre and motifs differ by piece. Refer to the individual listing rather than assuming every saree has identical construction.
Indian Handloom Heritage
Indian textile traditions vary across regions and across individual makers. Read the Indian handloom saree guide for an introduction, and consult each listing for product-specific claims.
